Stormy weather

Thanks to everybody for their patience last week when we had to close the school because of the weather conditions. A wonderful team of parent volunteers did great work on Sunday to clear the car park and provide access to the school, enabling us to reopen on Monday. Thanks to all for your efforts.

A selection of photos from your adventures in the snow are up on our Facebook page. There are some really creative pupils in our school with some very impressive sculpturing abilities![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1475781794776{padding-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Health

We have had reports of head lice in a number of classes. We ask that parents check their children’s hair and to treat for head lice if necessary.

If a child is unwell, they should not be sent to school. Please keep them at home to recuperate until they are well enough to return to school.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Swimming

Swimming was cancelled by the Aquatic Centre at very late notice on Monday and on Tuesday this week. We are trying to re-schedule the missed sessions. We will keep parents informed of developments.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1475780129264{padding-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

New junior Infants

An Open Day for new Junior Infants who will start in autumn 2018 will be held on Wednesday, 25th of April. Parents will be informed in writing of arrangements for the day.

Friends for Life

Well done to everyone in our 5th classes for participating in the Friends for Life Programme. There will be a special assembly in the near future to acknowledge the work that was done. Garden club

Our Garden Club is about to be launched. We may need some help in the near future![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Tyrrelstown GAA Club

Our school enjoys a very positive relationship with our local GAA club. They provide us with valuable assistance and advice, as well as allowing us to use their facilities. They provide coaching for all children from Under 8s upwards.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1475781794776{padding-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Contact details

If any of your contact details have changed, particularly phone numbers, please notify the office as soon as possible. This is particularly important as we regularly have to contact parents at very short notice. We also need the names of people to contact in the case of emergency.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
