Dear Parents,

School information is also available on www.tetns.ie. Our Facebook page is www.facebook.com/tyrrelstownetns.

Curriculum Meeting for Parents This year we the teachers will be hosting Curriculum Meetings with parents and their children in the school hall. This is an opportunity for the parents to come into the school and get a summary of what happens at TETNS. The teachers will discuss topics such as:

· Ethos – ET and what that means and what we celebrate etc.

· Basic school day e.g. start time, end time, breaks etc.

· Healthy lunches

· Behaviour Management

· Homework

· PE

· Communication

· School Tours

· Swimming

· And more

Meetings will take place in the school hall at 8:45am and should last about 30 minutes. The dates are as follows:

24th Sept – Junior & Senior Infants

25th Sept – First, Second & Third Class

26th Sept – Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Class

Once the meeting is finished we will be giving the parents an opportunity to walk through the building and playground to see the work the children have been doing and the construction work completed during the summer

Change to break times There will be some changes team teaching in TETNS this year and to accommodate this and for the children to get the most from it we will be switching our first break from 10:15am to 10:25am.
Permissions for photographs, trips etc. Last year we sent a questionnaire regarding photographs to all parents and we would appreciate if anyone has not had an opportunity to complete and return it to do so as soon as possible.

If you do not return the questionnaire, we will have to assume that you do not give your permission for the range of activities and the child / children will miss out unfortunately.

Junior Infants We have a new cohort of Junior Infant children this year and they seem to be really enjoying their first couple of weeks in school. We would appreciate if parents could send in a change of clothes in a zip lock bag with the child’s name clearly marked on the front in case there are any accidents and they need a change of clothes.
Assembly This Weeks Senior Assembly “Line of the Week” winners are Gerry’s Class and “Class of the Week” is Denis’ Class. Congratulations to all the children for their huge effort.
Resource Money Any parents who wish to pay the Resource money for the 2019 / 2020 academic school year please pay online or contact the school office.
Contact Details If any of your contact details have changed, particularly phone numbers, please notify the office as soon as possible. This is particularly important as we regularly have to contact parents at very short notice. We also need the names of people to contact in the case of emergency.
