The school will be closed on Friday next, the 26th, for the General Election. Details of school closures are posted on our calendar on the website.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Beidh Seachtain na Gaeilge ag tosú ar 1ú Márta agus ag leanúint go dtí Lá ‘le Pádraig. Seachtain na Gaeilge will last for over two weeks this year! We will all be making a special effort to speak Irish during that time. Other activities, including dance, will also be organised to celebrate Irish language and culture.

The motto of Seachtain na Gaeilge is Bain Triail Aisti – Have a Go!

Girls’ Football

With the coming of spring, action on the playing fields is once again happening. The girls’ football team played their first match yesterday in St Brigid’s, Castleknock. Well done to all the girls on a great effort.

Hurling training has also commenced. As an incentive to keep coming to training, those hurlers who attend for most training sessions will get to keep the hurleys at the end.

Parent Teacher Association – Movie Night

The PTA are organising a Movie Night in the school. This will take place on Friday the 4th of March. More details of the movies will appear later. This is a fundraiser for Educate Together in order to help the organisation address the shortfall in funding for this year.

 Proclamation Day

The 15th of March has been selected as Proclamation Day for schools in Ireland. One of the major focus points on this day will be the unveiling and reading of each school’s own Proclamation for a New Generation. We will be using ideas from the Scoilnet website to create our Proclamation. Further details at

Healthy Lunches

We are promoting healthy lunches in the school. The Wheel of Fruitune is very popular at our weekly assemblies. Children gain points for bringing fruit in their lunchboxes.

Chocolate and sugary snacks should not be included as part of children’s regular lunches. Examples of Healthy Lunches will be posted on our website in the near future.
