Welcome Back
We have now been back at school for 5 weeks which is unbelievable! Everyone has settled in really well and gotten used to all the new procedures. The children have been fantastic and are doing so well coping with all the changes. Thank you to all the parents for all their hard work in explaining the new rules to the children and a massive thanks to all the parents who took time to send us messages of support over the last few weeks!
Morning drop off and afternon school collections
The drop offs and collections are working well at the moment and the children are showing a huge level of maturity and responsibility in how they enter and exit the building.
Not every day but some days a small group of people can gather just before the doors open in the morning. We would just ask parents to be mindful of this and if the adults could wait to one side of where the children line up we would be delighted.
Traffic management
It is brilliant to see that the volume of traffic has reduced because of the staggered start times for children. We are also very thankful that people are being responsible and not using the school car park as requested.
Artist in Residence
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding again this year for our resident artist Ann. In previous years, Ann withdrew children from classrooms to work with her in the art room but due to Covid-19 this is not possible this year. Instead, Ann will go mobile and she will be coming to classes and working on a whole school art project.
GAA
GAA has recently recommenced in the school which is fantastic. This will take place outdoors mainly and by class group.
Assembly
As we cannot gather in the school halla anymore however, weekly assemblies are taking place in classrooms! Junior and Senior Classes of the Week are still being awarded with the winning classes getting extra Golden Time. Congrats to Francis, Seán, Emma and Bríd’s classes on getting their awards so far this year!

Visiting the School
Please remember that due to Covid-19 no unscheduled meetings can take place on the school premises. Unfortunately, we have had some people calling to the office without prior notice and we do not want to inadvertently insult anyone but we will have to ask people to leave and make an appointment by phone or email.
Face coverings
Any adult entering the school building must wear a face covering with no exceptions, thank you.
Travel abroad – Quarantine
Please remember if you have decided to travel with your child to a country NOT on the Green List your child must remain at home from school for two weeks after you return. There will be no exceptions or exemptions from this as we have to preserve the health of the children and staff in school.
Resource Money
Any parents who wish to pay the Resource money for the 2020 / 2021 academic school year please pay online or contact the school office.
Contact details
If any of your contact details have changed, particularly phone numbers, please update your information on the Aladdin Connect App or notify the office as soon as possible. This is particularly important as we regularly have to contact parents at very short notice. We also need the names of people to contact in the case of emergency.
