An update on sports programmes & workshops coming up over the next few weeks in Fingal.

Sports Equipment Funding

Sports club’s can apply for funding for Sports Equipment, to a maximum of €2,000 ie 80% of your spend of €2,500. The application and information for funding can be found online. The club must be registered with the Fingal Public Participation Network, as such must have 80% of its membership residing in Fingal. The link for full details and membership form is https://fingalppn.ie/ Please note the funding will not be paid retrospectively and you should not purchase any items until you receive formal approval. It will take approx. 8 weeks to process the application. You will receive email notification from us that the funding has been approved, you are free then to make the purchase(s). Please note the closing date for receipt of the Sports Equipment Funding is 4pm on Friday 30th July 2021. The club will not then qualify for the Youth Sports Grant, which will be launched later in the year. https://www.tfaforms.com/4780560

Sports Con Live 10@10

Table Tennis at Home

We have teamed up with Table Tennis Ireland to deliver the new Table Tennis at Home programme. The programme will run for the month of April. Women in Sport Masterclass

Fingal Sports Office & Tyrrelstown Mulhuddart Community Sports Hub’s Series of Women in Sport Masterclass Coaching Workshops continues with Masterclass 4. Cliona Foley, well known Sportswriter and Podcaster will host a discussion with two guest coaches and players from Leinster Rugby, Juliet Short, Dublin City Community Rugby Officer, Leinster Rugby and Ireland’s Women’s Back Row & Leinster Women’s Development Officer, Larissa Muldoon, Leinster Rugby & Ireland Scrumhalf and a successful member of the 2014 Women’s Six Nation’s winning squad. The Masterclass will take place on Monday 29th March at 7pm. Juliet has been a coach in Brazil, Head Coach with the Royal College of Surgeons and is now working in North West Dublin City delivering programmes in the marginalised areas. Larissa has extensive experience as a coach with Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Dublin City University as well as a former GAA Games Development Officer and now is implementing and managing Leinster Rugby participation & promotional programmes in schools, universities, clubs and communities with a view to encouraging more female to engage with the sport. Fingal HomeFit – Pilates

Fingal County Council Sports Office is hosting a free online Pilates course in an addition to the Fingal Homefit live series. Jayne from Corehealth will teach the 4-week course starting from Wednesday 7 April at 1pm. Pilates is a non-impact form of exercise using controlled movements to improve posture, strength and flexibility. Understanding Physical Literacy

We are delivering the FREE ‘Understanding Physical Literacy Course’ on Wednesday 31st March from 7.30-9pm. This course answers 10 key questions on physical literacy and its importance in developing lifelong physical activity participation. It’s especially relevant to clubs who want to build a vibrant healthy ‘Active Club’ and community through person-centred activities. Autism in Sport Workshop

This workshop will provide attendees with an understanding  of Autism focusing on the delivery of sport. It will help participants to recognize and understand key areas of difference as well as looking at practical strategies which will help to include people with Autism in sport sessions.
