6th Class

Louise’s 6th class have been very busy recently. In November, we learned about the USA and Native Americans and made totem poles in art. We had a visit from Draíocht theatre who performed ‘Grainne Mhaol – the Pirate Queen’ for us. In maths, we have been working on percentages and 2d shapes. We are reading a novel called ‘Wonder’ by RJ Palacio. This month, we have been making a Christmas village in art as a whole class. In Learn Together, we are looking at festivals of light and comparing the Jewish festival of Hanukkah and the Christian festival of Christmas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1512761003435{padding-top: 32px !important;}”][vc_column_text]

Rainbows

We are happy to announce we will be running the  Rainbows programme early in the new year.  Rainbows is a support group for children dealing with bereavement and parental separation. Children are mainly supported by their family and extended family. The experience of attending a support group, like Rainbows, with other children, of similar age and loss can help children realise and understand that they are “not the only one”. The relief and understanding that comes for children meeting others in the same situation can be so reassuring and supportive for a child. For more details go to http://www.rainbowsireland.ie/parent-faqs/
